Gone, Gone, Gone

This past weekend the ECMAs took place in Sydney, NS. After they ended in Fredericton two years ago I vowed to go to the next awards in Cornerbrook. When I couldn't do that trip I vowed to go to Sydney this year. In the meantime I also vowed to go to the Olympics, followed through on that one, and the bill from that trip precluded the trip to Sydney.* I still should have gone. The big winner, not surprisingly, was Joel Plaskett and his triple album Three. Next year's ECMAs are in Charlottetown and I'm vowing to go. I still did manage to get away for Saturday though. The Washergate crew headed back to Betts-Kelly Lodge for our annual weekend of sillyness. Good times, too much food and booze, were had by all. I don't recall who won the washer tournament so obviously it wasn't me so my title is gone.

The last thing that is gone, is amazingly, the snow off my front lawn. When I left for the Olympics* Freddy was still in full on winter. Shortly after I left the rain started and by the time I got back the river was flowing freely. Since then we've had about a week of beautiful Spring-like weather. The day at Betts-Kelly, for example, was about 10 sunny degrees. So, in the last week, much of the snow around town is long gone, notably the white stuff that was on my lawn. We are about a month ahead of schedule. Sweet!

Pace out.

*Note - The Retro-Diary is still coming!
