With A Little Help From My Friends

Over the past couple of years I have become involved in the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life. This event is the cancer society's major fundraising event for the year. All of the proceeds of this event go to fund research into cancer prevention and finding a cure. It also goes support programs for those diagnosed with cancer and their families.

This year I was involved with the team recruitment committee and helped myself out by committing the rugby club to enter a team, just as we did last year. I'm proud to say that (up to this point) we have raised just over $2000 towards this great cause. One of the new aspects of the event this year is that the cancer society has gone hi-tech and now offers people the ability to make donations to a particular team online. So, while I'm not sure who might be visiting this here site (am I talking to myself?) I feel I would be remiss if I didn't at least point you in the direction to make a donation to this cause. So if you are interested please click here. All you need to do is enter my name and the next steps will be easy to follow. My guinea pig told me so (thanks mom!). Last year the rugby club was the second highest fundraising team in the city. Hopefully we will get close to that again.

I'm off to the event now and I'm excited. Last year I missed it because I was off playing rugby. The weather is not cooperating but there will still be lots of people there and some good entertainment, including Casey Leblanc. I'm going to try and hook her up with the little bro.

Thanks

Sashy
